Lids Foundation Partners with Little Caps

By Staff 12/19/2019, 7:15pm EST

We are pleased to announce that the Washington Little Capitals will be partnering with Lids Foundation to help local players reach their dream of playing hockey.  Our organizations will work together during the 2020-21 season to identify and support deserving young athletes in the D.C. area.

“Hockey is a great game.  It challenges young athletes and teaches valuable life lessons.  But it is not accessible to everyone who wants to play.  We are thrilled to work with the Lids Foundation to help area players take advantage of this great game,” offered Little Caps Executive Director Doug Plocki.  “This is a fine example of good corporate citizenship.”

The LIDS Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, recognizes that today's youth are tomorrow's leaders. With a mission to support young people in our communities, the Foundation works to engage them in sports-related activities. These activities promote active and healthy lifestyles as well as leadership and growth opportunities. The LIDS Foundation turns this belief into action primarily through offering resources, be it in the manner of time, expertise, funds, or materials, to non-profit organizations whose goals and values align with those of the LIDS Foundation.

The Little Caps would like to thank the Lids Foundation for all they do to support youth hockey.
