The North American Prospects Hockey League (“NAPHL”) recently honored four Little Caps players for their academic achievements naming them to the All-NAPHL Academic Team for the 2017-18 season.  The NAPHL honors student athletes who achieve greatness in the classroom, marking its commitment to total development of its league members.  The Little Caps are proud to have four outstanding scholar-athletes:

Connor Leslie is carrying a 4.24 GPA at Heritage High School, where he is currently enrolled in Advanced Math Analysis, Advanced Business Law, Advanced French III, and Advanced Biology.  Connor was awarded a Public Distinction of Academic Excellence by Congresswoman Barbara Comstock for his achievements in the classroom this season.

Max Thiessen has earned a 4.0 GPA at Gonzaga College High School, taking advanced courses such as Honors English II and Honors Geometry.  Max moved up from 2nd to 1st Academic Honors in 3rd quarter.  Max also studies computer science outside of school, and has completed classes in Java Programming, C++ Programming, and Game Design & Development.

Zack Murray completed his first year at West Potomac High School, having just moved to the area, where he earned a 3.78 GPA while taking Honors Chemistry, Honors English, and Honors World History.

Mark Sangster is a multi-sport athlete at Rock Ridge High School carrying a 3.84 GPA.  He is taking Advanced Placement US History, and was named to the National Honors Society this past school year.

These players truly understand the discipline and sacrifice it takes to excel both on and off the ice.  They balance long hours at the rink perfecting their craft, long hours on the road competing with the best teams in the country, and clearly long hours hitting the books to excel in the classroom.  Congratulations Connor, Max, Mark, and Zack!
