The Little Caps are pleased to welcome Mike Veneri as the Head Coach of the Little Caps 2007 team for the 2018-19 Season.  Mike is a former NCAA Division I player, with national and international playing experience.  He has 25 years of coaching at the youth, high school, and collegiate level.  He is also a certified USA hockey official entering his 20th year of officiating.  Mike played collegiately at the Air Force Academy where he served as captain his senior year and returned as a graduate assistant coach following graduation.  Returning to his alma mater as a faculty member, he served on the hockey staff as a faculty representative for the hockey program where he helped with recruiting, NCAA compliance, and athlete academic performance.   Prior to returning to the Air Force Academy in 2008, he worked as a hockey and power skating instructor at SkateQuest Reston from 2001 to 2004, and was the head coach at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria from 2004 to 2008.

“My goal as a coach in developing players is to get the 'will' players to play with more skill and the 'skill' players to play with more will.  I’m looking forward to this group and the opportunity to work with them.”

Mike holds a PhD from George Mason University and currently lives with his family in Bethesda.  Mike is a USA hockey Level 5 certified coach.  Welcome Coach Veneri!
