Coach Friedman is in his first season with the Little Caps, taking the reins of the Bantam Minor (2007) squad.  He has years of coaching experience at all levels from Mite Hockey all the way to Junior "A".  Coach Friedman, who got into coaching early due to injury, brings vast knowledge and experience under a number of great coaches.

Prior to joining the Capitals, Coach Friedman started his coaching career with the Mercer Chiefs and was part of a PeeWee staff that advanced to Nationals.  While attending college, Coach Friedman joined the staff of the New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club where he coached at all levels and had much success in developing many players who moved onto the next level.  In 2010 Coach Friedman moved to the New Jersey Titans where he joined the Titans Junior Staff as an Assistant and Video Coach with the Titans MJHL and AJHL team.  In addition to his duties with the Titans Junior Program, he also was an Assistant on the staff of the Titans U18 and U16 National teams.  Four years ago, the Soo Eagles moved from Michigan to New Jersey and Coach Friedman joined the staff of the NJ Titans North American Hockey League (NAHL) team as a Scout covering the entire nation, with specific focus on Minnesota High School and Bantam hockey.

Three years ago, Coach Friedman was a part of the creation of the New Jersey 87s of the Eastern Hockey League and Eastern Hockey League Premier.  The organization had much success at both levels, including promotion to the top Division of the Eastern Hockey League after one season, and the commitment of eight 1998-born players last year to play NCAA Division III College Hockey.

Finally, he is the co-owner of NorthStar Elite Hockey; a high-level AAA Spring and Summer Hockey program which participates in some of North America's top Elite summer events including the World Selects Invitational.  The NorthStar Elite Program has been responsible for a number of Division I college commitments over the past 3 years.

"We're extremely excited to have another young professional like Justin joining the club," says Hockey Director Matt Thomas.  "In just a few short months, I've already been extremely impressed with his organization, dedication, and vision for the future. The '07 group will be lucky to have him."
