Seven Little Caps players and two coaches represented the WLC at this past weekend's AYHL All Star Game held at Quinnipiac University.  15U National Team players Wesley Crofoot, Alex Vouras, and Jack Rose, along with Coach Lyon Messier, were selected to skate with the best 15U players in the AYHL, and had a great showing.  Zach Stoner was also selected but could not play due to injury.

“I thought they all played well, created chances, made some hard plays,” said Messier, “they looked great playing along the other top players in the league.”

The 16U team had four players selected to play in this year's All Star Game: forwards Mac Robertson and Reid Leibold, defenseman Victor Hugo, and Goalie Connor Leslie.

Goaltending took a front seat in both games, with the 15Pure game ending 2-1 and the 16U gamed ending 2-0, including a shutout period by keeper Connor Leslie.

"A little unusual by all star game standards, but a great event.  The kids played well and had fun.  It's great venue for players and parents to enjoy," offered Hockey Director Dan Jablonic.

The players were treated to a meal in the Quinnipiac Student Union, and invited to stay to watch Quinnipiac take on St. Lawrence in an ECAC college hockey showdown that evening.  Quinnipiac is home to Little Caps Alum Sam Anas, so the we all cheered as Quinnipiac took the tilt 5-2.

For the first time in the event’s history, all three games were live streamed via the league’s broadcast partners at Hockey TV and the games will remain a part of Hockey TV’s on-demand library for the foreseeable future.  The game was also attended by coaches from Quinnipiac and St. Lawrence, along with scouts from various East Coast junior programs.

Please join us in congratulating Jack, Alex, Zachary, Wesley, Connor, Mac, Reid, and Victor!
