The 2002 Washington Little Caps enjoyed a strong finish to the 2014-2015 season, losing a tough battle 2-0 to Comcast in the AYHL League Championship.  Comcast sealed the victory with an open netter with just a few ticks left on the clock after surviving 19 shots, 3 off the post, one off the cross bar and a break-away.  The Little Caps went 2-0-1 in round robin play versus the 1st, 2nd and 3rd seeds beating the Philadelphia Junior Flyers 4-2, tying Comcast 3-3, and beating the Long Island Royals 4-2.  In the semi-final, the Little Caps squared off against their nemesis the NJ Colonials.  Still tied at two goals a piece at the end of regulation, the Little Caps scored the game winner six minutes into overtime.

The tournament was a great team effort with 9 players sharing in the goal scoring duties and both goalies recording wins.

Overall the 2002s enjoyed a very successful season with a record of 34-18-6.  Notable achievements included being a finalist for both the AYHL championship and the NHL Cup and tournament champions at the President's Day Tournament in Boston, MA.
