U16 National Team Wins NJPHL

The WLC U16 National Team continued its run through the NJPHL winning the league playoffs and the Frank Black Cup.  After finishing the regular season in first place, the Little Caps came into the playoffs with the number 1 seed.  The Caps won their preliminary round games against the USA Eagles and Pittsburgh Vengeance to advance to a best-of-three final round matchup with the Michigan Warriors.  The Caps dominated the finals with 6-1 and 6-0 wins to secure the championship.   The Caps power play netted 7 goals in two games against a feisty Warriors squad.  Defensively the team yielded very little over the series, notably not allowing a shot on goal in the final period to secure the shutout and the win.

Up next for the Caps, the Long Island Gulls invade Kettler this weekend for 2 critical AYHL games with playoff implications for both teams
